During this time, he is conditioned to serve the Emperor unswervingly, to place the laws and edicts of the Republic above his own desires and to never act in any way against the best interests of whoever is currently acting as the Regent or Emperor. This makes them immune to any form of mundane or telepathic coercion, including mind control and all manners of bribes of threats.
