Oath bond
When a Centaurum Royal Guard is frist taken into service, he undergoes a one month period of psychic conditioning by court telepaths. During this time, he is conditioned to serve the Emperor unswervingly, to place the laws and edicts of the Republic above his own desires and to never act in any way against the best interests of whoever is currently acting as the Regent or Emperor. This makes them immune to any form of mundane or telepathic coercion, including mind control and all manners of bribes of threats. For all intents and purposes, Centaurrum Royal Guardsmen are mentally incapable of turning against the Centauri Emperor for as long as they have physical control over their bodies.

The Oath Bond given by all Centaurum Royal Guardsmen

I swear by the Great Maker this sacred oath:
I will at all times loyally and honestly
serve my Emperor and the Republic
and, as a brave soldier,
I will be ready at any time
to stake my life for this oath.
